LFW Summer/Resort 2018 Highlights

cover_final

We were in absolute awe when the creations of various designers cascaded down the ramps at The Lakme Fashion Week Spring Summer 2018 showcase. It was an avant-garde, star-studded event in every accord. Beautiful creations, unending silhouettes and gorgeous looks were in full display at the 5-day event. Here’s looking at our favourites:

Anaam

Some serious eccentric style came alive at Anaam. The distinct silhouettes and solid colors added to the glam quotient and the state-of-the-art net like hair patterns were everything.

431-88 Shweta Kapur

431-88 by Shweta Kapur had everyday silhouettes making a statement. Just by zinging them a bit, the designer showcased how your usuals can become showstoppers.

Falguni&ShanePeacock.jpg

Falguni & Shane Peacock rocked the ramp in solid black and floral tapestry designs. Shimmer was used in certain bouts making it a striking element.

Anita Dongre

Anita Dongre’s pastel perfect outfits seemed great to be worn at Mehendis and Sangeets. You won’t have to look much far away to zero down on your summer wedding ensembles now.

Lajjoo C.

Bespoke femininity was rife at Lajjoo C. Variants of rust and moss coloured outfits made us want to embrace them colors simply.

Anamika Khanna_

Anamika Khanna showcased a varied concoction which all came together when the showstopper hit the ramp. A wide array of prints were used and we couldn’t think of better summer options.

Half Full Curve

Half Full Curve silenced the ideal body type argument and graced the ramp with stunner outfits. Subtle hues and pared down colors merged with flowy silhouettes and cowl bottoms to create a Goddess collection, like never before.

CROW

Minimal and breezy was the mantra at CROW. Think classy yet relaxed outfit styles that will keep you on-the-go while still lending a subtle statement.

Ikai Ragini Ahuja

Some easy styles and refreshing silhouettes welcomed us at Ikai by Ragini Ahuja. The designer introduced stripes in a relaxed and casual format.

LFWSR17D5S2aAnushree-ReddyRunway006

Refreshing florals welcomed us at Anushree Reddy’s show. The designer attested our belief of how pastels and florals are perfect for any occasion.

VineetRahul

We could not get over the beautiful florals at Vineet Rahul. The muted tones and pops of color were soothing to the eyes and the floral fascinators were the winner.

Makeup Trends: Spring/Summer 2018

cover__

Be it baubles or clothes or makeup, fashion runways have forever been our source of inspiration to create and experiment. The recent Spring/ Summer 2018 display is where we tapped on to some timeless and resourceful makeup trends.

Currently hooked on to these top picks:

Golden Highlighter

Golden Highlighter

The glimmer was swept across cheekbones and eye lids for that princess-ey vibe at Micheal Costello. If you are a minimal makeup person and are past a smokey eye then this look is what you need.

Healthy Glow

Fuller Lips

At Alexander Wang, the models debuted with a fresh face and healthy glow. With pinker cheeks and balmy lips, this look will be coveted by the lovers of fuss-free makeup.

Dramatic Cat Eye

Dramatic Cat Eye

We have always loved a cat eye and with this rounded wing showcased by the models at Jason Wu, we need to re-think our eyeliner hacks. This one though is easier and will be comparatively well-achieved.

Style Inspiration: India Couture Week 2017

cover_

Glam and glitz lit up the India Couture Week 2017 runway which was powered by the Fashion Design Council of India. This much-awaited show gave us a glimpse of the rich cultural heritage of our nation while weaving modern contemporariness in to it.

A host of celebrated designers displayed their work making the show a grand affair while our favourite celebrities graced the runway. Here’s looking at a few of our favourite looks:

shilpa_

Shila Shetty looked a total stunner in the heavily brocaded Monisha Jaising saree gown! The thigh-high slit and asymmetrical sleeves were the highlights of her look and she owned every bit of it. We think the Delaney Choker will definitely match the bling of her saree.

athiya_

Athiya Shetty looked diva-esque in her shimmery Shyamal & Bhumika ensemble. The sheer golden trailing choli was the perfect accomplice to the embroidered statement ghagra. Our Stud Embellished Golden Necklace will adorn this look perfectly.

bhumi_

Bhumi Pednekar looked gorgeous in a brilliant blue and golden yellow jacket lehenga. The Reynu Taandon ensemble was an artwork of sorts with heavy floral embroidery on the choli jacket and symmetrical entrances lining the hem of the lehenga. Our Golden Tusk Earrings are the perfect embellishment for this ensemble.

aditi_

Aditi Rao Hydari looked ethereal in this Gaurav Gupta gown which was a part of his Moondust collection. With a dramatic silhouette and glitter elements, the designer showcased the subtlety of the theme beautifully while making a statement. We feel our Rosette Earrings will prove to be the ideal match!

Bella Hadid, the well-known name in fashion acquired her talent from her mother Yolanda and became the Model of the Year in 2016, Bella Hadid acquires both the talent and the charm of a famous model and has been wowing us with her multifarious looks ever since. From rocking the chic choker with a sheer dress to pulling off an edgy ensemble with slicked back hair, this Dior ambassador is inspiring us with both her outfit and accessory choices.

Though we admire most of her looks, here’s looking at our current faves:

Bella is often seen in structured ensembles that seem to be reminiscent of a vintage era. This one is a toast to the immaculate fashion and style of the bygone era. She stuns in a biker-style denim dress and aces the look with that spectacular golden link choker while leaving the Anna Sui fashion show.

This one at the Grammy Awards 2016, Bella Hadid chooses a shimmery gown that is edgy in its own regard. The plunging neckline gives us serious fashion goals whereas the bejeweled cuff bracelet subtly nods towards keeping your accessories statement-ey.

And lastly, getting on to the upward trend of the season; Bella Hadid was spotted wearing this denim jumpsuit with rose appliques. She wore chunky hoops that blended supremely well with her look. Hoops seem to be favoured more by the model as she is often spotted wearing them.
