Solidarity & Style At The Golden Globes 2018

cover_final.jpg

The concord was visible and the message was strong when numerous women walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes 2018 wearing black. Standing in support of the Time’s Up Movement and the #MeToo interest, women in the entertainment industry displayed a blackout of sorts which truly proved to be enlightening. At various bouts, these women beseeched viewers to stand up against sexual harassment and assault while being in it all together, like Oprah said in her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award, “Each of us in this room are celebrated because of the stories that we tell, and this year we became the story.”

To complement the solitary tone adorned, our beloved Hollywood celebrities sparkled and how! Green, purple and white which are the colors of the women’s suffrage movement were used at large in the form of makeup and accessories. While it was a night of some serious speeches which delved in to profound truths of the society, fashion did go along very well.

Over to the ladies and their incredible style.

Emilia Clarke

Emilia Clarke looked pretty in a décolletage flaunting black gown. An elegant necklace coupled with ear studs made her look adorable.

Zoe Kravitz.jpg

Zoë Kravitz chose symmetrical green earrings that took her whole look a notch higher. Her well stationed crop and solid black bandeau dress played perfect tagalongs.

Millie Bobby Brown.jpg

Millie Bobby Brown sure knew how to ace her cape neck minidress. The fierce top knot which was braided at the back played really well with her cat eye flick and multiple piercings.

Greta Gerwig

Greta Gerwig who wrote and directed Lady Bird which won Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes 2018 wore this gown with a refreshing asymmetrical neckline. She glorified it with a stunning collar necklace which resembled a plumage.

Viola Davis

Viola Davis looked badass with her gorgeous mane and a studded layered necklace. Her look is a winner for sure.

Maggie Gyllenhal.jpg

Maggie Gyllenhaal showed us how shoulder grazers could be worn elegantly with these trailing pearl drops. Her wavy bob complemented these earrings very well.

Catherine Zeta Jones

Catherine Zeta-Jones stunned with these statement curtain danglers. The pulled back wavy hairstyle displayed the earrings in full view which sure were the centerpoint of her look.

Ready, Set, Summer: Trending Makeup This Season

Summer can be hot and humid, but that doesn’t stop us from making a statement. Following our craze for accessories and fashion, makeup and hair is our next favourite thing. In trend with what’s latest on the runway, we have put together some of the best trending Summer makeup guides this season.

Here it goes:-

goth

Goth Lips

Yes, really! We know it’s Summer and all, but who said we can’t rock a Goth look this May? Pop on a clean-cut dark shade lip color and minimal makeup, with a messy hair and you are all set to make a statement.

pop

Pop Eyeshadow

Crazy lids took center stage on the runway. Pop on a bright pink or bright yellow straight onto your eyelids and smudge the edges. This gives you that edgy Summer vibe. And of course match your jewelry to them.

plaits

Micro Plaits

This hairstyle is effortless, yet a very put together look for this May. Beachy waves with small strands of plaits peeping through. Just go about the day pretending you woke up like this! 🙂

naturel

Au Naturel

Ultimate Summer look for any Summer! The no makeup-makeup look goes well for a natural feel. Neutral eyes with a sheen of bronzer, makes you look sunkissed. Perfect to wear to the beach or all through the day.

half bun

The Half Bun

The Hun (Half + Bun) is here to stay! As it might get hot, you can put your hair up in a topknot, but at the same time have your hair down. Isn’t that perfect? Bookmark this style for your holidays.

ear light

Ear-light

This is a new trend we spotted this year. Putting on makeup someplace we’d never think of: ears! Spotted on the Giamba runway, the models wore holographic glitter on the rims of the ear. How cool is that!
