Summer Pout Inspiration: Bollywood Celebs

cover

Summers are for bringing in all sorts of color and while we mostly talk about ensembles that go with baubles, this time we’ll talk about lip colors that go with accessories. While carrying a lip balm is protocol, we don’t mind the colors of summer acting as great lipstick options to choose from. Our celebs have paved a fine way of acing berry colors and nonchalant nudes so we’ve gone ahead and paired them up with Pipa Bella accessories.

PB Travel Journal: Jodhpur

Set amidst the endless Thar Desert is Jodhpur, which is also famously known as ‘The Blue City.’ “The houses in old Jodhpur area are all coloured in ‘Blue’, hence the name. When seen from the top of the fort, the entire city looks really beautiful and in harmony” says Amoli, our team member who vacationed in the heritage city with her friend. Along with that, what really mesmerized her was the regally inspired art and culture that still dwells in the city, attractive handicrafts and the warmth with which people receive you.

What to look out for?

The Mehrangarh Fort displays the rich heritage of the Maharajas who once lived there. There are various collectibles and antique accessories on display which were once used by the residents.

Umaid Bhavan Palace is where Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur currently resides. A part of it is inhabited by the royals while the rest of the palace is turned into a hotel. The interiors are indeed gorgeous!

Clock tower is another place frequented by visitors that is located in the middle of a day market. The tower is surrounded by local sellers of ethnic clothing, jewelry, fabrics, spices, footwear, carpets and many more household things. It’s truly a shopper’s haven!

To hang out, there is a really good place called ‘Dagley’ which means ‘Rooftop’ in Marwari and is situated in the middle of old Jodhpur near the fort area. The rooftop displays the fort in full view and a part of the city. You can just sit here and chill all day long with your friends.

Where to stay?

Find a friend who lives in Jodhpur. There is nothing better than a Marwari’s house! The hospitality, the food, the family; no hotel can match those levels.

Where to shop?

There are little markets all over Jodhpur and you can shop for juttis/mojaris, rich Rajasthani fabrics, ethnic jewelry, handcrafted bags, artifacts and all of it at a pretty reasonable rate, provided you have good bargaining skills.

Where to eat?

As I was living at my friend’s place ‘maa(aunty) ke haath ka khana’ was the best! She makes the best gatte ki sabzi and mirchi ka achaar.

Jodhpur’s street food is to die for too. You get the most amazing  Mirchi vadas, Pyaaz ki kachori, Bread pakoras and many such unhealthy yet savoury snacks; around every corner of the city. Also, I have eaten the world’s best Gulab Jamuns which are made at this local sweet shop ‘Ras Sagar’.

There are also many heritage clubs in Jodhpur which serve really good food as well. So if you have a friend who is a member there, you can enter and enjoy a nice dinner.

Local restaurants serve various cuisines and I happened to like ‘Dagley’ a lot. It is a must visit as it serves really good food.

PB Travel Journal: Bali

Our team member Pranali chose Bali as her honeymoon destination and described it as paradise for nature lovers. From scenic rice terraces to culturally rich temples and endless beaches, Bali urges you to click a picture of each place you visit. The touristy nature of the island has not deterred its intrinsic art and craft and that is what makes it one of the few places which is on every traveller’s bucket list.

What to look out for?

Pantai Pandawa beach is a must-visit! Tanah Lot is a beautiful rock formation and is also home to the ancient Hindu religious temple making it the perfect place to be in. Visit the Monkey Forest in Ubud and you will be transferred to where the visuals of a Jungle Book would have looked like. Beautiful and detailed sculptures can be found everywhere in Bali with a peculiar feature of aggression on the face. Those who love water sports, head to Nusa Dua Beach. Uluwatu is another high altitude area which is very very scenic and is considered one of the best surfing places in the world. The Balinese cultural dance is something that you should definitely witness. Live music is also very prevalent here.

Where to stay?

You can stay at the beach facing property of Kuta Heritage. Hotel Four Points By Sheraton, Seminyak is another luxe hotel to stay in. Kuta and Seminyak are the best places to stay as everything is nearby. Kuta is also the main city area and a party hub. Definitely try out the spas here.

Where to shop?

Seminyak is full of brands and there are a couple of upscale malls in Kuta too. Tanah Lot is where you can shop on the streets. Get beautiful batik fabrics, intricate silver ware and elaborate wood carvings in Ubud, Celuk and Seminyak. While at that don’t forget to tour through the silver art galleries.

Where to eat?

Balinese cuisines include Bebek betutu and Babi guling. Indonesian delicacies such as Nasi and Mei Goreng are also something you should definitely try. Jimbaran Beach is very famous for sunset dinners and Kuta is famous for drinks.

PB Travel Journal: Thailand

This postcard-perfect picture of Phuket makes us want to go there again. The gorgeous views, serene waters and distinct greens ensured that we didn’t have a dull moment even once. While taking a million dips in the beaches and eating the most delicious food, we had the best time of our lives in Thailand.

We spent the first couple of days in Phuket and the truth that it is basically a bigger and better version of Goa dawned upon us. A lot of travellers flock this place and it’s quite interesting to see a mix of people around. We beach-hopped, tried the local Thai food and partied in the nightclubs on loop. We had the Caspian earrings which acted as the perfect company to our LBD. The next day, we visited a tiger and elephant sanctuary and later in the day we explored Old Phuket Town where we sat in a little cafe bar with some chill music.

Next was Krabi, which is on the other side of Thailand. We cannot describe how beautiful the beaches and the mountains looked here!

None of us got bored even after all we did was just sit back and spend the entire day in our swimsuits. We had our accessories on ofcourse because how could we forget them? Our short stay here did comprise of a trip to Emerald Pool which is a natural mineral pool in the middle of a forest. We also visited a hot spring which was a very relaxing experience. Later, we went to the night market, which is like a big flea market. We ate some delicious local food and shopped for some souvenirs.

We left Phi Phi for the last because ofcourse it’s the best. We took an early morning ferry to the Island and came to realize that this tiny little island has no vehicles. You can practically get from one side to another in 10 minutes, yes it’s that small! The water here is clear and as blue as the sky; it almost feels like it mirrors the beautiful azure blues. One thing that we absolutely loved about this place was that it was filled with cats! (WE LOVE CATS!).

On the second day, we went on a party boat to a nearby island and on the way, we visited Monkey Beach and snorkeled to our heart’s content. Just being in the sea under the sun with all the fish was indeed a memorable experience. Lastly, we visited Maya Bay which is a tiny, little bay surrounded by big rock-like mountains and trees. We ended the trip in the best possible way by swimming in the sea till sunset 🙂

A little sadness did creep in when the trip was ending, but then we had shopped and visited some really exotic places which made us happy 😀 hehe

It was indeed a trip well done!

Pristine waters and clear skies welcomed us at Greece making us a happy bunch of people. While marveling at the white and blue buildings dotting the coastline, we lost count of how much wine we drank. Think soul quenching food amidst picturesque sunsets, yes all of that with our jewellery for company 🙂

Basking under the sun with our Do Not Disturb Hats to get that beautiful tan. Shimmying around in tassels both on our ears and bags. Overlooking the blue horizons in our best swimsuits. Shopping from the cheery locals for anything and everything that we could possibly glance on. And basically creating pseudo instagram perfect pictures to flaunt on later. Much fun happened on this trip and oh, you can now get our Vacay Perfect Jewelry and flaunt it too.
